Postgraduate Certificate of Aesthetic Dermatology – Part 2 is the clinical component of the program. It is ideal for a medical practitioner who already completed the theoretical study in aesthetic medicine and wishes to gain clinical experience and sharpen their skills in medical aesthetic procedures. The PgCAD – Part 2 will expose the candidates to the latest medical aesthetic procedures and allowing candidates to be attached to our clinical facilities to learn the clinical aspect of aesthetic medicine. Candidates will have ample opportunity to perform various medical aesthetic procedures under supervision. This program will also facilitate the candidate in completing a clinical logbook on aesthetic procedures, which is a requirement for the LCP board examination by the Ministry of Health of Malaysia.

Certificate of Training (CoT) will be provided upon completion.

    1. Doctor who is preparing for LCP Aesthetic Medicine board examination.
    2. Doctor who wishes to gain in-depth theoretical knowledge on the subject of aesthetic medicine.
    3. General Practitioner who wishes to incorporate medical aesthetic service to their current
      practice.
    1. Doctor must have completed a theoretical study on Aesthetic Medicine, such as PgCAD-Part 1 or
      equivalent.
    2. The candidate shall also meet the enrollment criteria for PgCAD-Part 1, which are:
    • Medical practitioners / General Practitioner with or without prior knowledge and training in the
      field of Aesthetic Medicine, or

    • Dentist / Dental practitioner, with or without prior knowledge and training in the field of Aesthetic
      Medicine
The PgCAD-Part 2 is a six-month clinical program consisting of:
  1. 6 Full-day tutorials, clinical demo, and Hands-on sessions.
  2. Three-months mentor-mentee program. Candidates will be assigned to a Board-certified Medical aesthetic practitioner of their choice to learn and perform medical aesthetic procedures under the supervision of their mentor.
  3. Five-day clinical attachment. The candidate will be assigned to their mentor to learn medical aesthetic procedures, daily running aesthetic clinic operations, and primary care dermatology

PgCAD – Part 2 covers the clinical and practical aspects of aesthetic medicine. Topics covers
by the program include;

  1. Chemical peels & Microdermabrasion
  2. Intense Pulse Light (IPL)
  3. Lasers (for skin rejuvenation, hair removals, treating pigmentations)
  4. Botulinum Toxin injection
  5. Filler injection – excluding silicon and fat
  6. Skin tightening procedures – radiofrequency, ultrasound, infrared up to upper dermis
Malaysian Medical Doctors are entitled to the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) points. The candidate will qualify for 8 CPD points for each tutorial, demonstration, and hands-on

The fee is inclusive of:

  1. Clinical demonstration and training.
  2. Assessment Fee.
  3. Logbook.
  4. Use of clinical premises and supplies.
  5. Use of Laser and other related medical devices.
  6. Use of aesthetic pharmaceuticals such as Botulinum toxin* and dermal fillers*

* Apply only during the first hands-on session. An additional fee applies for subsequent usage of
pharmaceuticals for logbook signing purposes.

To complete the PgCAD – Part 2 and obtain the Certificate of Training (CoT), candidates must:

  1. Fulfill at least 80% attendance at the lectures.
  2. Completion logbook.
  3. Pass the course assignment

All lectures and demonstrations, and hands-on sessions will be held at KO Academy, located at;
